Are you always delivering your message with flair?

Chloe is actually teaching us all a very important lesson in this video. She is showing us how being positive and diligent can pay off even with the simplest of messages. As you can see Chloe clearly is just repeatedly saying the word “bye” excitedly to several different store patrons who are in the process of riding an escalator down one level. But what is interesting here is how many of those same patrons actually respond with a similar hand wave and polite reply for Chloe.

Now Chloe undoubtedly thinks this is a fun diversion or game just for her. But her excitement level forces the other patrons on the escalator to reciprocate that very same positive attitude, even though you know some of them may not really be feeling quite as enthusiastic as Chloe. Most would suggest this is an example of how positivity is contagious. But I would counter that this might be something even more special. For no other reason than most of us might be feeling the stress of this current downward trend in our economy, or possibly because we may have to maneuver the repeatedly depressing headlines in the news. Whatever the reason, we all might need to step up our “positive game” as it were.

Now I am not trying to preach flower power here, but you should test this theory out for yourself. Test this theory out on a new personal “really bad” situation by throwing every possible ounce of positive energy you can throw at it and see what transpires. Or in business terms, seek out new networking opportunities with a client say on the backend vs. just when a client may be initially enquiring on your services for the first time. By this I mean, get creative and follow up with a client for something other than a sale for you. Take the time to really develop a relationship that might grow into something more beneficial for all.

Did you notice Chloe’s success ratio in the video? She was clearly getting a similarly positive response from 9 out of 10 patrons. If you attempt a project with even close to the same fervor as Chloe you might just surprise yourself with similar results. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. And if you are typically uncomfortable or shy around people, the rewards here could be astronomical. And don’t get hung up on the message, after all Chloe just used one simple word, a word that seems rather appropriate to close with here as well…so…”bye” for now my friends.

Take Advantage of a Serviceless Superhighway

I have had a little too much time on my hands recently, so in an attempt to try and stay somewhat productive, I decided I would do some much needed Website Maintenance. And I am not ashamed to admit that my website did require some attention. Which leads me to believe that your website might require some attention too? In fact there is a good chance it does. But don’t beat yourself up over it, just refocus your attention on improving your overall message. Try to avoid all the free new “bell and whistle” plug-ins that promise more than they ever really deliver. And perhaps just hone in on trying to offer better service, as it typically costs you nothing and can really only help in the end.

Brand My Mail

Recently I took a look at the new email enhancement service Brand My Mail, and I have to say so far I am impressed with this tool. Not only is the interface very user friendly, but the branding opportunities for a small business that is either not currently branding or perhaps is but is spending too much, definitely makes this worth a look in my opinion.
